Taking A Stand For Sustainability

Today’s water cooler talk goes deeper than the latest project assignment, hottest new album, or what’s for lunch. Instead, people are discussing what matters most: their communities, their world, and the issues that directly affect them.

UNIQUE, CREATIVE, ULTRA-CUSTOMIZED ENVIRONMENTS

Environmental sustainability has become a non-negotiable, and a driving force of the LifeWorks way. Our fierce commitment to solutions that are good for people AND for the planet is evident in the products we source – from local, in-season fruits and veggies to humanely-raised meats and sustainably-caught seafood, fair-trade certified coffee, and reusable, recyclable and compostable plates, cups, cutlery, and paper products. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The result? Sourcing standards that have a measurable impact on the local economy, your team’s health and wellness, and the environment.

FIVE FUNDAMENTALS

1) Stringent Sourcing Standards: Since health and wellness are top priorities, we refuse to compromise our quality standards. Menus are based on seasonality and availability of regional fresh product. Whenever possible, these are produced locally using sustainable and organic methods like responsible practices in raising farm animals and ethically procuring seafood.

2) CommunityFirst ApproachWe infuse each constantly-evolving menu and custom dining experience with its own local flair. Our chefs personally visit area restaurants, farmers markets, and more to gain insight into the best local purveyors and understand each region’s unique flavors. Forming these partnerships reduces our carbon footprint, supports biodiversity, and keeps our teams connected to the neighborhoods, towns, and cities they work in.

3) Nothing Artificial: Our dairy products come from cows who haven’t been treated with artificial growth hormones. Shell eggs are produced Cage Free and are certified by Humane Farm Animal Care, Food Alliance or Animal Welfare Approved. And all other meats such as turkey, chicken, and pork are raised without antibiotics as a first preference.

4) Plentiful Meat-Free OfferingsIf meat’s not your thing, not to worry. Plant and fish lovers alike can expect to receive the same innovative and authentic dining options as their carnivore friends. Veggies are prepared at the last possible minute in small batches and fish is never farm-raised. Plus, our chefs only serve food they’d be proud to serve to their families, so taste is never left behind.

5) Environmental Enthusiasts: Not only do we respect the ingredients and our recipes, we have a deep admiration for (and commitment to) protecting and preserving the environment. We do our part to help minimize environmental impact in both our operations and communities through responsible purchasing, efficient operations, waste minimization, and fleet management to reduce food miles, and more.
